ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. ISO develop and publish International Standards; they do not provide certification on conformity assessment. We use EQA Ireland as our certification body. EQA are accredited by the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB). They carry out our annual ISO Surveillance Audit’s and full recertification audits every 3 years.
Product quality is extremely important to LED Group (ROBUS). The product quality management involves strict inspection of incoming products along with dedicated quality stock checks on our products going out. This ensures the best quality possible for our customers.
We developed our own unique ROBUS 5-step quality control assurance plan; 1. Pre-production, 2. Burn-in, 3. Operational, 4. Order, 5. Independent Certification. The ROBUS 5-Step QC Assurance Plan is applied to 120,000 units per week. This ensures all ROBUS products are 100% tested, checked and certified.
We are dedicated to quality and are very proud to be certified with the ISO Quality Management System since 1997. The LED Group (ROBUS) quality system was continuously managed and updated throughout the past 22 years in order to remain compliant with the changing ISO 9001 standards. In 2018 we transitioned our QMS to a process based, management driven system which uses a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) system to monitor and control our product and process quality. This included developing process flows for all our major process i.e. Inputs, outputs, risk assessments and ownership in each process. We have established our company Governance and Context Analysis to manage and maintain the QMS. Objectives are made every year; these are then regularly monitored with weekly management meetings.
In recent years LED Group ROBUS (and the world) have become more conscious of the impact our processes have on the environment and we wanted to make sure we were consciously trying to reduce our impact.
ROBUS products are energy efficient ensured, with virtually all products LED based. However, there were other areas where we wanted to make a difference. This included being as energy efficient as possible and also working on reducing our waste and managing waste.
We have developed an Environmental Management System (EMS) to help us monitor and manage LED Group’s impact on the environment. This system includes the development of:
The Environmental Management System encapsulates the entire life cycle and disposal of goods from waste management to energy management. To manage our waste, we work with A.E.S. Bord na Móna. They ensure that we are WEEE compliant and all waste is recycled when possible. In the office, we promote best environmental practices for example turn it off policy and think before print. All our outdoor lighting for the premises is on timers to save energy.
We successfully achieved ISO 14001:2015 Certification on 19th Feb 2019. Improvements since the development of our Environmental Management System include:
We have since merged the EMS and the QMS into one Integrated Management System (IMS). On 19th September 2019 the IMS was audited as part of an annual ISO Surveillance Audit by EQA. The audit was passed with no issues or non-conformances found.
